Hey there!
Join us for the second year of Yoga In a Park Near You. I teach a weekly outdoor donation-based yoga class for the summer months. My goal is to get a group of inspired practitioners together to stretch, strengthen, center and re-connect each week. This class has an authentic community vibe as we create a close-knit yoga tribe and enjoy these praiseworthy warm weather evenings together. I've included you in the invite group if we've done yoga together in the past, you've shown interest in beginning/ continuing/ rekindling a practice, or I just think you'd be an awesome part of our group! By all means, please feel free to spread the word and bring friends along. Each class is open to all, so just drop in when you can. All levels are welcome. Suggested donation, $5-15. Hope to see you there!
We'll float from park to park each week exploring the beautiful green space of our lovely city. The schedule is tentative and suggestions are always welcome, so watch the VEDA wall and check back before each class to review location details by date.

Bring your bright Self ☀ a mat and some water (I always try my best to supply a large jug of refreshing herbal-infused water as well!). Dressing in layers is always a good idea. I'll try and remember some bug repellant!

☀WEEK 1: Monday June 20th, 6pm
LOCATION: 2nd floor terrace of Marcy Casino at Delaware Park overlooking Hoyt Lake.
Park along Lincoln Pkwy anywhere between Rumsey Road and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. The casino is directly between the rose gardens and the water. The view is so gorgeous from this elevated vantage point. I can't wait to practice here.
☀WEEK 2: Monday June 27th, 6pm
LOCATION: Same as week one! 2nd floor terrace of Marcy Casino at Delaware Park overlooking Hoyt Pond.
Rain is predicted early in the day on Monday, so this is a safe (repeat) location as we won't have to worry about soggy grass under our mats. It's such a gorgeous private space and yet still central to the endless activity and energy of the park!

LOCATION: Triangle Park (Officially named "Burke's Green") in North Buffalo sandwiched between Depew, Wesley and Beard Ave.
This secluded little park in a quiet residential neighborhood will be quite the contrast to the wonderful buzzing life of Delaware Park! A great opportunity to tune in to both ourselves and our environment. I'm looking forward to the peaceful sounds of the fountain and birds happily serenading our practice ;)
☀WEEK 4: Monday July 11th, 6pm
LOCATION: Bidwell Park
We'll meet at this iconic sculpture and find the perfect place for our practice. It's located about one block east of Elmwood Ave between Potomac Ave and Soldiers Circle where Bidwell Pkwy, Lincoln Pkwy and Chapin Pkwy converge. It's just up the way from Cafe Aroma and across from Buffalo Seminary! I could go on and on with landmarks in this beautiful area of the Elmwood Village, but I'm sure you'll find us!
Bidwell Park has a definite upbeat energy due to its proximity to the Elmwood Strip and yet is a sort of a sanctuary among the bustle with spacious lush lawns and rows of big old trees for cool shade and rest. It's the perfect balance for our yoga meet up!

LOCATION: Outer Harbor Sculpture Park (a.k.a Wilkeson Pointe)
What could be better than practicing at one of the most beautiful parks on our city's waterfront? If you haven't been yet, you're in for a treat. Wilkeson Point has gorgeous unobstructed views of the lake, a combination of sandy beachfront and soft green grassy areas, and of course it's unique landmark wind sculptures. Oh, it also has a mini playground for the little ones if they'll be tagging along! It's really a perfect picnic spot, so maybe plan on bringing some friends, packing a bottle of wine and sticking around for the sunset. It can be a bit breezy, so dress in layered clothing so you can keep yourself comfortable!

LOCATION: The Buffalo History Museum (rear lawn facing the Japanese Garden)
This is one of the most beautiful lawn spaces in Buffalo! From our vantage point we will view Hoyt Pond and the historic bridge over the water, the peaceful Japanese Gardens, and the green space of both Delaware Park and the History Museum. Class will be held on the grassy space at the rear of the museum within the stone wall enclosure, just to the side of the picturesque stairway. The museum is located at One Museum Ct, Buffalo, New York 14216, at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Nottingham Terrace. Feel free to park in the front lot or along Nottingham Terrace. The Museum will be closed, so please walk around the outside of the building to arrive at class!
